I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how very thankful I am for Voice Acting Academy’s Freshman Tele-course.  It was a great overview of voice acting, character creation, tricks of the trade and script analysis.  I learned much more in your Freshman class about the Art of Voice Acting today, than I’ve learned in many other voice over classes that were suppose to be more advanced.  

Your ABC’s of Voice acting are great concepts to use to create and re-create characters quickly. I found them to be great tools for self direction.  I now use a lead in line that verbalizes the back story and gives me a reason to say the first line, for every audition… even if it’s just in my head.

I appreciated your talking about performance rhythm, and the difference between Stage, film, TV and Radio rhythm. That alone has made me re-think every audition.

Every week I learned something different from the projects we recorded and sent to you.  I learned that there are many forms of VO projects to voice, and I learned that I have much to learn about each of them. I believe the first step in becoming competent in anything is to learn how much you don’t know… and grow from there.  

Since finishing the class (3 weeks) I’ve equipped my home Studio with a Mic Port Pro, and an MXL 990 Mic. I’ve done auditions about every day for the past 2 weeks on voice123, with my outdated 9 year old Voice tape that I did when I knew nothing, and I am getting a whole lot more positive feedback. I’ve gone from the top 65 percentile to the top 82 percentile in two weeks. 

I’d like to thank both of you (James & Penny) for being willing to share candidly the knowledge and information that you’ve picked up in your years of experience in this business… and for answering questions that would  have been easier to avoid. I appreciate you both and I am looking forward to a continued relationship and more of your classes.

Thank you both for a CLASS!!!

Love the TEAM approach. Getting instructions and coaching from both of you on the same call was invaluable to me. At first I was intimidated because every one was soooooooo good. My confidence level grew during the class !realize I still have a lot of work to do.

Loved being able to go back and listen to the lesson on the audio podium. My fault - didn't use the FTP file. At least now I know how, with both your and Penny's help.

Thanks for including the Business section in the course.

Opening my mail and finding a certificate, I felt like a kid again. LOVED IT!!! I will let you know how I'm doing.
