Want to be a better voice actor?

The VoiceActing Academy Copy Workout is a class designed to take you to the next level after graduating from our San Diego 8-week or Weekend Workshop, or if you’re a working pro. This is your opportunity to practice what you’ve learned or experiment with new techniques in a very supportive and non-threatening environment. Content varies from week to week - some weeks feature acting exercises while other weeks feature booth work with different types of copy. And occasionally we’ll focus on one or more aspects of the business side of voiceover.

Regardless of the class, we guarantee you’ll have a great time and learn a lot of new things along the way.

Once a month, we open the studio to any of our graduates who want to become better at interpretation, character, dialog, and other performing skills. Bring your own copy, or work with the scripts from our library. All Copy Workout sessions are directed and engineered by James R. Alburger and Penny Abshire.

THE DETAILS:

Here’s everything you need to know about The Art of Voice-Acting Advanced Copy Workout:

• You must be a graduate of one of a VoiceActing Academy Freshman Class workshop to attend.
• OR, if not a graduate you must either audition for the class or be a working professional voice talent - and we must hear your demo.
• Class is held on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm—9:30pm (usually the 3rs or 4th Thursday of the month).
• On-mic work is recorded for your review and study. (You must bring a minimum 256MB USB Flash Drive if you want to take your recordings home for review. Sorry, we cannot record on cassette, CD, or e-mail your files after class.)
• Workshop day and location may be subject to change
• You must pre-register by calling ahead to reserve your space! E-mail registration will NOT be accepted.
• Class size is limited to 15.

If you register for a class and need to cancel, you must call us by 12 noon on the day of class.

Cost is only $35 per person*.
