If you don’t see the mic you’re looking for here, give us a call! We can probably find it for you at a great price.

The most important thing to know about microphones is that different microphones will sound different with different people. In other words, you might sound best on a relatively inexpensive mic while that same mic might make someone else sound “thin” or harsh in quality.

Ideally, you want to test a microphone with your voice before you purchase, but that’s not always possible. If in doubt, we recommend starting with an inexpensive condenser microphone. You’ll still sound very good, and as you gain experience (and income) you’ll learn how you sound on other mics. Eventually you’ll find a mic that fits your voice best.

TLM 102 Condenser Mic
Neumann Tlm 102 Condenser Microphone Nickel Silver

Neumann Tlm 102 Condenser Microphone Nickel Silver

The Neumann TLM 102 defines a new generation of studio condenser microphones. This applies not only to the design of the microphone but also to its price.Neumann reduced the overall size of the TLM 102 mic to make it exceptionally compact. Here's a microphone that unites all of the design components typical of a Neumann mic. The harmonious proportions and gleaming grille ring ensure that even at first glance, the TLM 102 condenser mic attracts attention. In the interior of the TLM 102 is a newly developed large-diaphragm cardioid capsule with a maximum sound pressure level of 144dB. Use the TLM 102 to record percussion, drums, amps, and other very loud sound sources. Instruments that are not especially loud also benefit from the very fast transient response of the TLM 102 condenser mic. However its most important applications are in the realm of vocals and speech. A slight boost above 6kHz provides for excellent voice presence in the overall mix. Up to 6kHz, the frequency response is extremely linear, ensuring minimal coloration, and a clearly defined bass range. The TLM 102 mic capsule's elastic suspension suppresses structure-borne noise. A pop screen integrated into the grille attenuates plosives in vocal and speech recording. Due to its price and flexible field of application, the Neumann TLM 102 is an ideal condenser microphone for home recording and project studios, as well as for broadcastingespecially when clear lines of sight to the speakers are a priority.Large-diaphragm microphone with cardioid directional characteristic (pressure gradient transducer)Compact, characteristic but smaller-scale Neumann designVery high maximum sound pressure levelSlight presence boost above 6kHzTransformerless circuitry

Rode Microphones Nt1-A Condenser Microphone Bundle

To celebrate 15 years of the RDE NT1 and NT1-A, RDE Microphones has created a revised NT1-A package including a premium shock mount, pop filter, cable, microphone dust cover, and a bonus instructional DVD. Originally released in 1995, the RDE NT1 mic is found in professional and project studios the world over. Its combination of clarity, warmth, extended dynamic range and high SPL capability made it an instant classic with professional engineers and home recording artists alike. Following heavy investment in precision manufacturing, RDE revised the microphone capsule and electronic design of the NT1, resulting in only 5dB SPL (A-weighted per IEC651) of self noise. Released in 2003 as the NT1-A, it has since become one of the world's biggest selling and most recognizable condenser microphones. Now RDE has truly made the NT1-A the complete recording solution by including a premium shock mount with integrated pop filter, high-quality 6m (20') XLR cable, microphone dust cover and even a bonus instructional DVD. Presented by RDE founder and company president, Peter Freedman, The NT1-A Studio Secrets DVD features a range of tips and techniques to help RDE NT1-A owners get the most from their new microphone.Large 1" (25mm) capsule with gold plated diaphragm Cardioid polar pattern Self noise of only 5dB (A) Ultra low noise, transformerless surface mount circuitry Wide dynamic range Gold-plated output contacts True condenser (externally biased) Internal capsule shock mounting Includes: Premium shock mount Pop filter Cable Microphone dust cover Bonus tips and techniques 'Studio Secrets' DVD featuring founder Peter Freedman
