Conference Calls

We have an ongoing schedule of both free and “for fee” conference calls that are designed to help anyone interested on voiceover to learn new skills and enhance their voiceover work. Following are some unsolicited comments from some of these calls:

Hello, I just wanted to send a thank you, this is from Ed Russe aka Hank Hill/Tom Bodette :-) Thanks for the feedback on the Demolition Derby, I have been wanting to send you a note to let you know that the info you gave me really helped. I went on vacation right after the DDD, and I had time to absorb the feedback. I have signed up for some private lessons at Edge Studio, in DC, and I getting some accent reduction classes, from Edge in NY. I am also starting to read for the blind. Hope to meet you guys next year, and I am planning to take your next tele-course.

I enjoyed learning more about the business of the Voiceover industry.  It allowed me to see what I am already doing vs what I need to and changes I must make (Vistaprint stationery with the red curtain and gold mic). I am still a baby in the industry and love learning from people with experience and am open to constructive criticism that assist in my growth. I look forward to other calls and classes with you.

Thanks James and Penny, this was a very informative workshop.  I appreciate the information you shared so freely. I'm definitely going to be reading more from the books I've bought from you already on this subject.  I took Tori Hartman's workshop here in L.A. at the end of Voicelympics and had gotten more good tidbits on marketing from her also.

I look forward to more of your teleconferences.

The free tele-seminar last Saturday with CourVO was yet another rousing success. I feel badly that I'm exploiting you by taking advantage of all your valuable and free learning opportunities. Right now, my financial situation is such that money for training, workshops and conventions is out of the question. That will change, I'm convinced, and when it does the choice of where to spend my resources will be obvious... the guys who kept me going when times were lean. I did participate in your eight week beginning  voice acting tele-seminar and took a lot from it. Also I joined in on what I believe was your first Demo Demolition Derby and due to your feedback on my demo screwed up the courage to seek representation. With in days of submitting my commercial demo to some agents, I got call backs form two agencies wanting me to jump on board. Heyman Talent Agency of Columbus, Cincinnati and Louisville and Forward Talent in Atlanta. Don't count me out. Soon I will be a paying customer again. Maybe even an attendee at VOICE 2010. My dream. As I'm waiting for my ship to come in, I hope my pier doesn't collapse. Thanks for all you do for the VO community and keep up the good work.

Penny and James: Thank you so much for conducting the Demo Demolition Derby teleseminar. Yes, I know I should be asleep by now, but please allow me to thank you for your critique, especially considering my lateness in sending the demo to you. I love the voiceover business and wish to continue as long as I'm able to hear! You have rekindled my spirit and I can't thank you enough! NY can be a tough town!

Thank you for an wonderful learning session. Your key evaluation points are so important to me as I prepare to create my first real demo reel. I can only hope that the next time I can submit something for your critique. I look forward to learning with you again in the future (the "guru" and the "coach").

Tonight's Demo Derby was a hoot and so informative... a terrific learning experience. Most of all, however, it was the boost in confidence that I really needed at this time. When I compare my demo to that of others I hear from a myriad of sources, I see myself as severely lacking. You encouraged me and convinced me I might have the necessary abilities to make a "go" of it.

You folks are generous and compassionate without soft-pedaling your professional advice. I'll be sure to share any successes when (not if) they occur, if you are interested. I know I need personal coaching, acting training and more experience. I'd love to study with you guys and especially attend VOICE 2009 (or 2010, 2011...) You've given me a new lease on life.
